Vasco Núñez de Balboa was the discoverer of the Pacific Ocean, which he named the South Sea. After this discovery, the king named him "adelantado del mar del Sur". (“a pioneer of the south sea”)

With great care, Alexandra De V has designed this silk scarf with a different color on each side: the light gray color on one side is a reference to the color of the South Sea when Nunez de Balboa discovered it. The orange color on the other side, is intended to evoke the color of the sea at sunset.

The design of this silk scarf is the result of considerable work and dedication that becomes evident upon close inspection

First, a silver coin was designed in which Núñez de Balboa appears looking out to the sea. This coin, which is located in the central portion of the scarf and serves as the basis of its design, is completely chiseled and handmade. On the outside, it is surrounded by a pattern that symbolizes the waves of the sea, and is framed by the Spanish flag.
